What You Will Be Doing
The Director of Quality is responsible for managing and coordinating all quality activities across the full product/material life cycle. It is expected they will transform high level company goals into a department strategy and execute through an annual operating plan. The position is expected to exercise sound technical judgement and data gathered from internal monitoring to implement suitable processes that enable capability for the company to reach growth and efficiency targets.
Day-to-day, the role works closely with management in the design, production, supply chain and mission teams to ensure that systems and processes across the organization consider quality requirements to match the strategy. As a leader the role, you are responsible for multiple teams covering; quality control, manufacturing quality, supplier quality and mission assurance.
Essential Job Functions
- Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate products and production equipment
- Ensuring that products adhere to quality standards
- Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data
- Working according to deadlines for the delivery of products
- Tracking products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct
- Performing detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards
- Eliminating products that are not up to standards and finding the reasons for product problems
- Collaborate with other departments such as purchasing, operations engineering, distribution and technical support to effectively maximize product quality and on time delivery for customers
- Partner with stakeholders to determine best practices drawing on your knowledge of industry innovations
- Lead process improvements and implementation in the company
- Lead continuous improvement for the business by developing a strategic plan and implement continuous improvements for internal or external processes
- Develop, implement and maintain appropriate visual management performance indicators
- Competent in use of Microsoft Office and ERP systems, & Lean tools
- Available to travel as business needs require (estimate 25-40%)

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters level degrees in a technical discipline or relevant area is required.
- 12 to 15 years relevant operational and leadership management experience in a Quality and/or Continuous Improvement role is essential
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and familiarity with, a variety of TPS/Lean Sigma tools
- Experience in working with IT business systems such as SAP is a plus
- Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
- Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to operate successfully across an organization at all levels
