What You Will Be Doing 

The Procurement Manager manages and leads the procurement team according to demand and quality standards, ensuring the smooth and cost-efficient flow of our operations. Continuous improvement of our purchasing strategy, vendor relations, direct cost reduction, and leadership of the procurement team will be what this team member wakes up every day eager to improve upon.

Essential Job Functions

• Negotiate with vendors to secure effective relationships and supply terms 
• Continuous process improvement of our purchasing strategy 
• Identify best practices to cut direct procurement expenses
• Oversee a team of purchasing professionals 
• Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
• Monitor and forecast project materials to ensure they will be on time and within budget
• Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption
• Prepare and submit status and performance reports
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• 10-15 years’ proven experience in Procurement
• Experience in a production environment like automotive, industrial, heavy engineering, construction, distribution etc.
• Proven leadership skills in managing a team of direct reports.
• Manager SCM activities
• Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
• Experience in MRP II (Manufacturing resource planning)
• Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
• Good at math and statistics
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication abilities
• Commitment to adhering to all quality and health and safety procedures
